RIO TIPOGRAPHY
Year: 2019


Rio is a display sans-serif, geometric typeface created during my residency in typography at SVA-NY. Rio was inspired by Brazil’s mid century Sergio Rodrigues’ design, alongside with Burle Marx’s work and Ipanema Beach’s sidewalk. Originally based on square-rounded shapes, Rio has wide proportions and low contrast.
